A place to pause

Hello, I am Katia

If you have found your way here, it may be because something in your life feels difficult or uncertain right now. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what your next step should be.

Counselling provides a safe space to pause, reflect, talk things through, gain clarity and move forwards at your own pace.

A personal introduction

Meet Your Therapist

My background as a medical doctor has given me a deep appreciation of the powerful connection between the mind and body. Throughout my clinical work I witnessed how profoundly emotional and psychological wellbeing can influence physical health and recovery. This understanding inspired me to further my studies in psychology and counselling and it continues to shape my holistic approach to therapy today.

I completed my counselling training at the University of Edinburgh and York St John University where I developed the skills to support people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I tailor my work to meet each person’s unique needs. I draw on a range of therapeutic models to support growth and change, including psychodynamic therapy, which can help explore deeper patterns and the impact of past experiences on the present.

How I Work

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. To help make this easier, I offer a free 15 minute initial phone call where we can briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from the process. This conversation also gives us the opportunity to see whether my experience and way of working feel like the right fit for you.

I offer counselling sessions face to face, online and by telephone. This allows for flexibility depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

When working with trauma related issues, I only offer sessions face to face. From my experience, this approach provides a safer and more supportive environment, particularly when integrating talking therapy with body based work. Being in the same physical space allows for a deeper level of presence, grounding and care throughout the process.

My aim is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace and begin to move towards greater clarity, resilience and wellbeing.

Working with Trauma

Trauma affects mind and body, causing anxiety, tension, or numbness. I integrate talking therapy with somato emotional release, supporting safe, gradual processing, body awareness, and deeper self connection over structured sessions.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk Therapy combines counselling with nature, easing conversation, reducing anxiety, and supporting clearer thinking. Outdoor sessions provide a confidential, calming space, enhancing wellbeing while following the same principles as indoor therapy.
